Happy Lunar New Year!

Ryan asked me to join posting in this blog weeks and weeks ago but I only just finally worked up the nerve to do so since no one knows who I am. I draw silly comics and stuff under the name saicoink. My interests include comics, music, fashion, food, and old things so you'll see me post about these kind of topics from time to time.

In the spirit of the Lunar New Year, I recorded some selections from an old tape of Vietnamese music from Southern Vietnam around the early 1970s before the fall of Saigon. The group of musicians responsible for the tape are called Shotgun, and apparently they released a series of tapes and reels-to-reels back in the day. This particular tape was perhaps released sometime during the Lunar New Year period and contains songs welcoming the new year and the spring time. Sorry for the noise on the
sound files but the source tape is perhaps as old as the recording itself.

Well, hope you guys enjoy it and don't think it too boring. If anyone wants the complete tape recording let me know, and I'll send it your way. Once I get a longer cable I'll record some of my records of silly Japanese Idol music from the 1980s and old French music among other things.
