MIXER MADNESS: The Killer!

This past weekend, Evan and I watched an amazing tape he found from high school, when he hooked up various keyboards and drum machines, Gameboys, and two microphones to his mixer, and we overdubbed the audio to various movies live using two VCRs.

The hour-long tape is hilarious and deeply embarrassing, but I was impressed with our nerdy, straight-edge caffeine-fueled ingenuity at the time, stuck in our boring town in Michigan. Other items on the tape include Mario 64 footage, scenes from Evangelion, some random 90s hentai, and about 25 minutes of John Woo's "The Killer".

The Unclothed Man in the 35th Century A.D.

Our friend and Electric Ant contributor Dash Shaw worked this year on an exciting animation project. The Unclothed Man in the 35th Century A.D. is series of free animated shorts Dash directed & produced by the Independent Film Channel, and they are now online at IFC.COM.

In the future, a man pretends to be a droid model so he can pose nude for academic figure drawing lessons.

The Unclothed Man in the 35h Century A.D. is also the title of an interesting book I grabbed at APE'09, that collects storyboards and drawings from the series as well as color short stories done between 2005 and 2009. [on sale here]

TRUE PLAYER FOR REAL by MC LARS

Here's the new music video by my good buddy from college,  Andrew...  also known as laptop rapper MC LARS! This is the self-referential introduction song (featuring Weird Al Yankovic & intro audio by Wesley Willis), and the first track on his latest album. He just finished another tour in the UK, and will be hitting the Midwest and East Coast shortly.
