MIXER MADNESS: The Killer!

This past weekend, Evan and I watched an amazing tape he found from high school, when he hooked up various keyboards and drum machines, Gameboys, and two microphones to his mixer, and we overdubbed the audio to various movies live using two VCRs.

The hour-long tape is hilarious and deeply embarrassing, but I was impressed with our nerdy, straight-edge caffeine-fueled ingenuity at the time, stuck in our boring town in Michigan. Other items on the tape include Mario 64 footage, scenes from Evangelion, some random 90s hentai, and about 25 minutes of John Woo's "The Killer".

This is a short clip from a rescue scene:

2PAC LIVES!

Yesterday was the late & great Tupac Shakur's birthday. In celebration, here is the track 2Pac Lives by The Cuckolds (Jason Shigacorn and Windsor Schmidt's short-lived rap group):

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Dear EAZB,
I never was the kind of guy to do the whole new year's resolution thing. But, for 2010 I decided to at least try these two things:

1) Less chewing on the inside of my cheeks
2) More, shameless pimping of my work

You will be glad to know that I have managed to keep the insides of my mouth relatively bite-free (I chew on my lips now).
Regarding my self-pimping, I made myself a website: http://www.milonogiannis.com/

I'm probably going to regret getting that URL for it, I know people have a tough time spelling my name. There's only 3 short comics and some drawings up there right now. Updating it is a pain in the ass, but hopefully I'll put up newer stuff every now and then. There's an image viewer to make looking at the stuff easier, but the whole site needs to load before that thing will work, which actually makes it more complicated. Let me know if it works OK for you.

Here's a drawing I did today of the Voight-Kampff scene from the Blade Runner movie. I've been wondering lately how things would translate from books and film into comics, without heavily editing the source, so maybe I'll do more of those. I'd really like to draw the abandoned underground highways from Asimov's Caves of Steel.

Also, as an apology for making my first post on the EAZB a sucky one, I'm sending along some music I did recently. I'm totally not serious about making music, so feel free to laugh at those. Here's hoping this posterous thing actually works!

What are your resolutions for 2010?

TRUE PLAYER FOR REAL by MC LARS

Here's the new music video by my good buddy from college,  Andrew...  also known as laptop rapper MC LARS! This is the self-referential introduction song (featuring Weird Al Yankovic & intro audio by Wesley Willis), and the first track on his latest album. He just finished another tour in the UK, and will be hitting the Midwest and East Coast shortly.

TRUE PLAYER FOR REAL from the album THIS GIGANTIC ROBOT KILLS

Andrew contributed a drawing of Bebop & Rocksteady to Electric Ant #1.

Shunga

I'm responding to ryan's curiosity about this blog being able to play
mp3s. Here is the most hip and unobtrusive song on my new album,
"Architecture Digested." I hope you like progressive rock, and
electronic music from 1982. [myspace]
