The terrifying works of y16o
I'm posting here to introduce you guys to a new member of our extended zine/art crew, y16o!! He collaborated recently with his gf Monika Uchiyama (photographer/frontwoman and contributor to Electric Ant #2) on a diagrammed evil piece for the Lady Gaga zine, PRISON FOR BITCHES, and is someone you guys gotta check out!
y16o (real name: Yuichiro) is an illustrator and zine/print-maker from Tokyo, currently living in New York. His art is nightmarish, extremely detailed, and subtly twisted. Lady flesh, hellscapes, nails, and black magik are just some of the motifs y16o rocks in his large-format prints and illustrations. These pics and gifs hopefully give you a sense of some of his stuff, though you gotta hold his giant hand-screened folio zines to get a real feel for the rawness. I was thinking that Aeron, Gea*, Brendan and DeForge would especially get a kick out of his stuff:
