This one's for the spaceship nerds

“You can’t just stick a rocketship on the cover of a book and expect it to sell. That’ll work for the Hard SF readership, but that’s not going to sell thousands of copies.”

This is an interview I did with Jacob Weisman, founder/publisher/editor of Tachyon Publications, a science fiction small press based in San Francisco. I think we did a pretty good job of covering a lot of topics in a relatively short space, including the economy, what it's like building a small press, and how the San Francisco media ignore San Francisco groups. Jacob also spilled some mouth-watering details about books that Tachyon will be publishing in the next year or so.

Fantastic read, with lots of interesting color on SF publishing and upcoming MUST-READ-OH-SHIT sf/genrefuck books. Excellent work, dude!

I love that they are doing a whole book based around Lethem's squandered promise of SF essay. I can't wait!
