Weekend collage: Postcards edition

In preparing to finish a 5-page comic collage for Hyperchalice 4, I made a trip to the fantastic art supply shop Arch in SF. It was my first time there, and the place did not disappoint. I managed to restrain myself slightly, but walked out with 2 new exacto knives, a 12"x18" Alvin cutting board, a sheet of gray mounting board and spray adhesive... all the tools for proper collage-making.

I'm still behind on finishing up my pages, but in testing out all my new goodies I threw together the following 4 postcards. Thanks for looking, as always!

sources: 1960s science experiments book, faces drawn by me, eye drawn by alice & me, magazine clippings, cross-stich grid pattern book blown up huge, laura park squid from vice, koji aihara panel, etc.etc.

very nice. so glad you checked out arch. that place is fantastic. it'd be great for an EAZB field trip (nudge nudge). you're getting rather prolific with these beautiful collages.

Thanks Jenn. It's good having a recipient in mind, makes the creative process flow better. I think I might put together a xerox zine of these on the side for APE, if I get enough good ones done.

a xerox zine is definitely in order, since you seem to know how to master those bitches. do it. there will be PLENTY of good ones done by then

That cat is so creepy. You must make a zine! Hellen and Calvin talking about variant covers and gold leaf on the podcast made me think of how obnoxious (in a good way) it would be to make a zine all arts and crafty. Go nuts?
